Your habit builds your character. Your character determines your destiny.
Small habits snowball into big results over time. The majority of people ignore this simple secret.
Become GREAT by adopting these 3 simple habits:
- Exercise like a champ
- Read to become an ubermensch
- Work on your skill set that MAKES you money.
Do these 3 things every day, and you’ll raise above mere mortals.
The majority of people watch 3 hours of TV a day. If you dedicate those 3 hours to self improvement, you’re on your way to becoming an uber human.
Regular people have “new year resolution” – instead, you should have EVERY DAY resolutions. Strive every day to become the best.
Okay – let’s dig deeper …
1. Exercise – become strong as fuck
It’s your God given rights to be strong.
The iron calls your name. It’s your job to lift the weight off the earth and rise it up to heaven. You’ll be so strong, you’ll dead lift a car. It’s your job, as a man, to have your son or daughter look up to you and say: “my daddy is strong!”
Join a gym. If you can’t join a gym, buy weights. If you can’t buy weights, do body weight exercises.
Build a body that is capable of pushing, pulling, climbing, jumping, dashing.
Important: stretching helps prevent injuries and increase blood flow to your muscles. Try to stretch for 10 minutes, 3-4 times a week.
On recovery days, do cardiovascular exercises – running, biking, swimming, martial arts
No need to over think things – just do. Your exercise routines and techniques will evolve as you get better.
By exercising, you’ll be inclined to eat better – I recommend the Mediterranean diet as a superior way to eat.
Now your body is in top condition – chiseled abs, bulging biceps, pectoral muscles big enough to stop a bullet. Your presence will make women panties gushing wet, as they brush their hair aside and eye fuck you. Other men will treat you with respect, merely because you’re big and intimidating.
Go ahead and admire yourself in the mirror. After all, your muscles is proof of your hard work and discipline.
2. Read to become an Ubermensch
People don’t read much. According to a 2003 survey by Jenkins Group:
- 42 percent of college graduates never read another book after college
- 80 percent of U.S. families did not buy or read a book last year
- 70 percent of U.S. adults have not been in a bookstore in the last five years
- 57 percent of new books are not read to completion.
- One-third of high school graduates never read another book for the rest of their lives.
Yet, the average American watches 5 hours of TV a day.
… People rather be entertained rather then be educated, it’s just part of human nature.
Why you should read high quality, patrician tier books.
Reading a book is the mental equivalent of loading the thoughts of a genius into a bullet and shooting yourself in the head. It’s a complete mind fuck.
Read books of bad ass people, like Miyamoto Musashi, Napoleon Bonaparte or Genghis Khan. Read books on history, philosophy, science, psychology, religions and how to manuals. Read patrician tier fiction books that makes blows your mind. Trash pulp fiction books – in the trash it goes!
You can buy paper books. Personally, I use e-reader because of convenience. An e-reader is different from a tablet because uses e-link, which doesn’t strain your eyes. Kobo is a good brand – a Kindle is okay too.
On average, I read 40 books a year. I spend about 25 minutes to 50 minutes a day reading. You know how it feels? Almost as good as sex.
Think of books as a mind virus, infecting your head with good stuff. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without good books.
Avoid shit tier click bait blogs, the local news and Men’s magazines.
3. Work on your skill set to make more money
What’s the #1 thing people worry about?
Learn new things to advance your career – part-time online college course is good. Take time to read patrician tier books related to your career.
… or start a side business and become a free man.
Who wants to work at their day job and go home to work on a side business? A winner.
For those obsessed with success, self-improvement IS leisure.
Instead of trading time for money, trade value for money – something that ALL businesses do. Here are some side business ideas: drop shipping, book publishing, e-commerce.
Don’t sell your time for money. Instead, look to scale – you can only do this by SELLING something.
I will write more about business in future blog posts.
Side note: network with high value people
Caveat: Do this habit once every a month
Join meetup.com to meet new people. There are many entrepreneurship groups and other categories to your choosing. The secret to networking? Talk, get their phone numbers and buy them lunch. Then pick their brains apart. See if you can get a “I scratch your back and your scratch my back” type of deal.
Average people spend 3 hours at the bar on a Saturday night. Winners go out to network.
Drop your “friends” who stagnated or waste your time. Winners don’t have time for stupid drama. After all, you’re racing against time, as you forge your way to greatness.
Putting it together – step by step …
I understand – life is tiring.
First, a side story …
I was over at my ex-girlfriend’s house. Her aunt was a middle age woman who was a manager at department store and her husband was a 320 pounds truck driver. Their evenings consisted of eating dinner and watching 4 hours of TV before bed time.
He told me “I walk around the neighbourhood in the evenings for 20 minutes – but not as much now because my ankles hurt”
My heart still weeps for him – he’s really nice guy – if only he tried a harder and lose all that weight, his quality of life would improve exponentially.
I’ve met many fat people in their 20s, 30s and 40s. I tried to cheer them on and gave them exercise/nutrient advice. Out of 100 people, maybe 1 will take action and keep at it long term.
Why?! Why not exercise, be fit and strong and live a healthy life? Because life is tiring.
Working at a 9 to 5 job is tiring, so is family obligations. At the end of the day, people want to crack open a beer, watch their favorite sport and relax. After all, they gotta work tomorrow morning.
How to take action every day without fail
You need to ruthlessly crave out time.
The best productivity “trick” of them all: Pomodoro Technique.
It’s amazingly effective for everything, from writing to exercising to building a business. You set your timer for 25 minutes and do your task without multi-tasking. Then you get a 5 minutes break. Then repeat the cycle again. When your 25 minutes timer starts ticking, you DO the work without distraction. No multi-task, no answering to nobody.
How did I build this blog? Write 25 minutes every day. Eventually it became a habit, to the point I FEEL bad for not writing.
It’s human nature to underestimate the power of small, incremental steps – but it’s the only way to go.
- Don’t drink Starbucks every day and save $5. That’s $1825 in a year for vacation or investment.
- Write 1 page a day. In a year’s time, that’s 365 pages – long enough to be a novel
- Lose 1.5 pounds a month. That’s 18 pounds in 12 months
- Finished 30 books a year by reading 25 minutes a day
Start small, do your habit every day and eventually it will snowball into something big.
Your destiny is to become great. Your habit is your sports car that drives you to the top. A year from now, you’ll be glad you started today. Thank me later 🙂
I’ll see you at the top.
